“El volquete” (“The Dump Truck”) (2022), engraving on maple wood — known internally during its making as “La ochava” — was produced the same year as “Todo se derrumba” (2022), continuing Kopp's engagement with the urban and industrial landscape of Rosario.
Engraved on maple wood, one of the harder woods Kopp has worked with, as an alternative to the end-grain palo blanco blocks used in earlier pieces such as “La sequía” and “El exterminio” (2018). At 15 x 13 cm, it was carved directly onto a wooden key rack ("portallaves") Kopp had on hand, one of several pieces from this period worked on found or repurposed supports rather than a prepared block.
