“Todo se derrumba” (“Everything Collapses”) (2022), 50 x 30 cm, engraving on plastic, belongs to the same body of ecologically and socially themed work as “La esperanza” (2021) and “El volquete” (2022), continuing Kopp's exploration of environmental crisis, urban decay and collapse.

Materials

Engraved with a burin directly onto a sheet of plastic — an alternative surface Kopp returned to in later pieces such as “Aún quedan” (2025) — rather than the traditional end-grain woodblock used in earlier pieces such as “La sequía” and “El exterminio” (2018).

Themes

The title points directly at the piece’s subject: collapse. Like much of Kopp’s engraving from this period, the image draws on the landscape and social tensions of Rosario and the Santa Fe agro-industrial corridor, continuing the exploration of environmental damage and decay also present in “La esperanza” (2021) and “El volquete” (2022).
